Task 2 requires candidates to write a short essay of no less than 250 words based on the question or point of view given, and to use an appropriate tone to express their point of view.
IELTS score
Writing The essays written by candidates are judged according to the following four criteria:
1. Task(task1)/(task2) writing task completion/response situation.
2. & Coherence and articulation.
3. Lexical richness.
4. Range & Grammatical Diversity and Accuracy; each scoring criterion has the same weight.
Speaking is scored on the following four criteria:
1. Pronunciation.
2. Range & grammatical diversity and accuracy.
3. Lexical diversity.
4. & Fluency and Consistency; Equal weight for each scoring criterion.
IELTS test time
The IELTS test is usually held 4 times a month, for a total of 48 times a year. Usually the IELTS written test (listening, reading, writing) is scheduled on Saturday morning, and sometimes there will be an additional test on Thursday morning; the oral test time will generally be arranged 7 days before or 7 days after the written test according to specific needs, candidates can choose or is automatically assigned by the system.
