There are nearly 400,000 returnees from overseas studies each year, but less than 0.5% of them take advantage of this policy.
Recently, many readers have called to inquire about the purchase of duty-free cars for returnees from overseas studies, asking how to take advantage of the country's preferential policies for overseas students? What kind of preferential policy is it? How to go through the relevant car purchase procedures for returning students from abroad? To this end, the reporter interviewed Liu Suzhen from the Post Office of the Supervision Department of the General Administration of Customs, who is responsible for the implementation of this policy, and asked him to answer some questions from readers about this preferential policy.
From January to September, 1,582 duty-free vehicles were purchased nationwide
Liu Suzhen, who is in charge of this business, said: "Generally speaking, the number of returnees who have studied abroad and returned to China in the past two years has used this preferential policy to purchase tax vehicles on the rise, from 626 in 2001 to 1,846 in 2002, and from January to September this year. A total of 1,582 vehicles were purchased nationwide in January, an increase of 10.4% over the previous year."
